The top paint companies, as well as Pantone, have just released their colors of the year. Let’s take a look at what we can expect to see in style for the upcoming year.
Sherman-Williams 2017 Color Choice: Poised Taupe (SW 6039)Sherman-Williams says, “Poised Taupe creates a cozy lifestyle and brings a sense of sanctuary into our homes. It diffuses the stresses of the world outside our doors — so much so that we feel restored and in balance when we walk across our threshold.”
Glidden 2017 Color Choice: Byzantine Blue (50BB 32/117)Byzantine Blue, which they call “a subtle, serene violet” will keep it calm, cool, and peaceful, but just a little playful, for 2017.
Dunn-Edwards 2017 Color Choice: Honey Glow (DE5354)Can you get any more cheerful with this color? This warm, golden yellow with orange undertones is said to represent global and cultural trends and its cheerful spirit will re-energize any room.
Benjamin Moore’s Color Choice: Shadow 2117-30
Benjamin Moore calls Shadow 2117-30 “allusive and enigmatic — a master of ambiance.” This rich, deep amethyst can “fade into the soft lilac-grey of distant mountains or morph into lustrous coal.” Set the mood with Shadow.
Pantone’s 2017 Color Choices:Pantone predicts that 2017 will be the year of Kale 18-0107. In keeping with tradition, they have chosen ten colors based on what they are calling, “a mixture of vitality, relaxation and the great outdoors.” From colors that are bright and vivid like Lapis Blue and Primrose Yellow to those that convey a sense of earthiness like Kale and Hazelnut, their top 10 colors for spring 2017 are “reminiscent of the hues that surround us in nature.” Take a look at their choices above.
